R.J.Doerrfeld has been a customer of our bank for a number of years and had recently done two jobs for us. The first was a repossessed house in Punta Gorda. It was the worst home that I have had to rehabilitate in my twenty year banking and twenty year real estate careers. Mr Doerrfeld did a magnificent job reconstructing this home. It came out better than I thought possible and done very economically. The second job was our Punta Gorda office, roof leak had badly damaged the inside and exterior walls. Again he did wonderful work in repairing the damage.

It has been 3 years since I closed on my house and I am as pleased with it as I was when I moved in. When we started my home I was apprehensive. I was a single mom with 4 kids still at home, you put me at ease through the building and loan process. I remember walking into the house during construction and call you to tell you that every time I visit my house I am pleasantly surprised. You continually exceeded my expectations. Since I was raised in the construction business and continue to work in that field I anticipated some corners to be cut in an attempt to save money and cut costs, I never saw thatin my house. RJ Doerrfeld gave us several home designs to choose from, we choose one and changed the entire floor plan. He explained how he would do everything from start to finish. He listen to what we wanted and I was able to see firsthand the building of our home. We are very happy with the materials and workmanship of everyone. This is the third house I have had built, if there were a fourth Nuline Building Systems,Inc is where I would go first.

On September 25, 1997 we contracted with R.J.Doerrfeld to completely renovate an old building to house our new office. I had explained to Mr.Doerrfeld our lease would be up at our previous facility and that we had to be in the building by October 31, 1998. Mr. Doerrfeld assured us that he would do his level best to accommodate us. That day he began the work, and we moved into our building on October 30! During the construction period we had no problems with the contractor. The workmanship was superb and the attitude exemplary. In August of the following year we received the Area Beautification Award from the local Chamber of Commerce.

When we decided to build a building of our own, we checked around with a couple of the local builders to get an idea of approximately what we would be looking at in total cost to build the building and to develop the site ,including the parking area, septic system, and landscaping. We had one contractor draw up the blueprints for us and gave us an estimate for doing the construction work. We were quite dismayed when we received the estimate, it was approximately a full 30 % more than we could spend. It was evident to us that if we wanted to build the building, we were going to have to build it ourselves. We were going to need a contractor willing to help us, and guide us in the construction. We were blessed to meet R.J.Doerrfeld, not only a very reputable contractor but also a Brother in Christ who shared in our vision and excitement about building another house of God for this community. Most building contractors would not have wanted to be involved with a project such as this, R.J.Doerrfeld was always very encouraging and understanding toward us. He helped overcome a poorly done set of prints and went to bat for us with the building department on a couple of issues. When completed our project cost was exactly the donations we had received without a mortgage.

On September 29, 1996 our church family celebrated its first service in the completed renovation process turning the North Port Mall (50,000 square feet) into a beautiful church.
